CBSE Board 2020 Class 10 exams canceled; Class 12 students will have an option: CBSE tells Supreme Court

The Solicitor General informed the Supreme Court that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) won’t conduct further exams for Class 10th students that were postponed due to coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdown. For Class 12th students whose exams were pauses and postponed, they will be given an option to appear in exams only after conditions are conducted. It has been proposed that alternative options be given to take assessment based on the past 3 exams. For this purpose, the proper scheme will be released by the centre for internal assessment by Friday i.e. 26 June 2020. The final verdict will be told by the Supreme Court tomorrow at 10.30 am.

Students who opt-out of the exam might need to appear for exams in the near future depending on the past exam. Due to the appeal of lakhs of student and parents, the exams for Class 10th and Class 12th boards were canceled. With the fear of clashing with university admission, the verdict is expected to be soon out. CBSE to file the new assessment policy which is likely to be grading system marks obtained in pre-boards, internal assessment scores, or already conducted exams, etc. Official confirmation is awaited.
University and Other Exams To Be Postponed
Entrance Exams and University Exams are likely to be postponed especially for final year students. The final decision lies with the university.
